"Hidden Treasures"
With a gathering of over 35 attendee's the Site Texas "Hidden Treasures" educational and networking event did not disappoint. The weather cooperated on a beuatiful blue sky day in Dallas set amid an array of wonderful jewels in the city's art district.
The walking tour began with a visit to the Dallas Museum of Art, one of the larger venues available for functions after normal opening hours and was followed by a visit to the Trammell Crow Center, home to the wonderful Crow Collection of Asian Art. This venue has a more intimate feeling for receptions and showcases some beautiful examples of oriental jade.
Directly opposite is the world famous Nasher Museum which as the photographs in the gallery depict has most superb outside garden in the heart of the city, a perfect venue for evening cocktail parties for groups. Next stop on the tour was the beautiful Belo Mansion, a very special venue steeped in history associated with the Dallas Bar Association and able to accommodate numbers of 10 to 1500.
The three final venues on our tour took on a much grander scale for functions and events as we visited the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center, the AT&T Performing Arts Center and Opera House and the AT&T Wyly Theatre. All three having very distinct attributes and differences from the ability to sit behind the orchestra at the Meyerson and its "Starship Enterprise" lighting above the stage, to the individual air conditioning per seat and wonderful ceiling of the AT&T Performing Arts Center to the rooftop terrace and incredible seating of the Wyly Theatre.
With so much covered in a three hour period the group returned to the Fairmont Hotel, Dallas where they enjoyed a hosted canape and wine reception, allowing all to share stories from their afternoon and continue networking with buyers and suppliers. For one and all it was an afternoon that allowed everyone to discover the "Hidden Treasurers" of one of the leading art districts in the country.
