Happy Thanksgiving to you, our Site friends and colleagues! We are pleased to report on our last event November 9, 2011, hosted at the original El Fenix, downtown Dallas, Texas, hosted by Palace Resorts, which included a fun and interactive game show activity supported by Ultimate Ventures—“Networking, Education, and Fun—Family Feud style—a great success!
After networking, and a great meal, we had some fun learning about the eleven Palace Resort Properties-- Did you know that Palace Resorts claims 4 of the top 11 properties in Cancun (LeBlanc Cancun-#1, Sun Palace-#4, Beach Palace-#5, and Moon Palace-#11; on Trip Advisor)!! It was great to meet with Pat McCain and several other Palace Resort property representatives who were in town.
Special thanks to all who helped in preparing, delivering, sponsoring, and participating in our November event. El Fenix—with outside patio space (for ~100) under the moonlight, overlooking the beautiful Arts District, is a unique venue with traditional Mexican food and beverage, and great service since 1918. That building isn’t the only thing that’s been serving meetings since the last century—take a look at the (top middle) picture below with Site Texas Presidents spanning the past four decads, including current President, Jonathan Richards (left), and our chapter’s original President, Laurie Sprouse, and a few others—Bill Vastine and Bill Boyd (l to r). It was a special treat to have them all in the same spot for this great event! It is a pleasure to serve on the board with the legacy they have created and continue to carry on.
Lastly, giddy-up to our grand end-of-year event December 7th—Site Texas Holiday Party and Silent Auction- Omni Dallas (you won’t want to miss the special treats in store at this just opened property-- wrapped in Site Texas hospitality)!
